-OTC: bev, cetuximab, ipi, nivo, rituximab, trastuzumab, pembro, pani
-Other: Alemtuzumab, brentuximab vedotin, ofatumumab
medication nomenclature for mabs
-murine = omab
-chimeric = ximab
-humanized = zumab
-human = mumab
how do MABs work
-attack specific cells by identifying protein makrers/antigens, binding these molecules or blocking proteins that stimulate blood vessel formation
what to watch for with MABs
-first infusion - infusion-related cytokine release syndrome - hypotension, tachycardia, fever, edema (including pulmonary edema)
-should be less severe with subsequent infusions
contraindication for panitumumab
-skin toxicities - avoid sun exposure
how long to get ECHOs with trastuzumab
-Q3 months during, Q 6 months for 2 years after
How does anagrelide work
-platelet reduction
How does asparaginase work + how is it given
-protein synthesis/activity
-SC injection
How does bexarotene work + how is it administered
-regulates gene expression
-topical application
What does hydroxyurea treat
-route
-CML
-given with radiation for some H+N
-Oral
arsenic trioxide concerns
-Long QT. -baseline + weekly EKG
-acute promylecytic leukemia
Concern with asparaginase
-contraindication
Encephalopathy
-contraindicated within 12 hours of vincristine
-contraindicated within 24 hours of MTX (give 24 hours after)
-do intradermal test to check for hypersensitivity
Concern with Tretinoin
-Vit A toxicity
Concern with Bexarotene or Tretinoin
-contraindicated to sup vit A
