In secretions - tears, saliva, sweat
PROTECT BODY SURFACES EXPOSED TO FOREIGN SUBSTANCES
Where are igG antibodies found?
What do they do?
ALL BODY FLUIDS (G for gloopy!)
Fight bacterial and viral infections - GO!
MOST COMMON ANTIBODY AND ONLY ANTIBODY THAT CAN CROSS THE PLACENTA!
Where are IgM antibodies found?
Blood and lymph
FIRST TYPE OF ANTIBODY IN RESPONSE TO INFECTION - ‘Me first!’
IgE antibodies - where found?
Lungs
Skin
Mucous membranes
Allergy = ELLERGY!!!!?
React against foreign substances
IgD antibodies?
Plasma membranes of immature B lymphocytes (immature B looks like a D!?)
Found in small amounts of blood
