What is Inactivated vaccine
is not alive and cannot replicate
Contraindications of live vaccines
*Pregnancy
*Severely immunocompromised

Other contraindications of live vaccines
- Severe allergic reaction
* Moderate/severe illness regardless of fever
Misperceived contraindications
• Mild acute illness regardless of fever • Low-grade fever • Recent exposure to infectious disease • Mild to moderate local reaction • Current antibiotic therapy • Prematurity* • Lack of previous physical exam in well-appearing patient • Immunodeficent family member or household contact (MMR) • FH of SIDS or seizures (DTaP)
