Immunity evasion Flashcards
What is immune evasion? Give examples …
-immune privileged sites > areas where we don’t want the immune system to go because damage in these sites that would be very detrimental
What is HPV?
-A small non enveloped double stranded DNA virus with a circular genome.
-lysogenic :incorporation of the viral genome into the host cell genome, infecting it from within
and
- lytic lifecycle : reproduction of viruses using a host cell to manufacture more viruses
……infecting the basal cells of the epithelium.
-avoid host immunity.
How is HPV replicated?
E1 & E2 – Viral DNA replication
E4 – Assembly & release of viral particle
E5 – Interacts with EGF to promote mitogenic pathways
E6/7
L1 – Major capsid protein
L2 – Minor capsid protein and DNA trafficking to nucleus
How do E6/7 help with HPV immune evasion?
Anti viral immune responses are driven by TLR recognition and type 1 IFN release HPV has a series of mechanisms to subvert these responses, How?
Immune response for HPV.
