Rheumatoid Arthritis:
• Clinical manifestations:
Morning stiffness lasting more than 1 hour, arthritis in 3 or more joints, arthritis of the hands, symmetrical arthritis, nodules over bony prominences

o Contraindication: Used with caution in patients with DM, active infections. Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity, psychosis, and fungal infections.

o Client Education:
Client Education: Do not stop abruptly. Good hand hygiene. Report low grade fevers and signs of infection. Best taken in the morning with food. Eat foods high in potassium. Monitor BG levels.

o Balance rest and activity periods. Alternate heat and cold therapy as prescribed. Prevention of contractures.
RA treatments

Occupational Therapist: Assist with ADLs and needed assistive devices such as raised toilet seats, self-rising chairs, wheelchairs, and scooters.
• Physical Therapist: ROM exercises, weight-bearing restrictions, training after arthroplasty
