Q

How does phagocytosis work

A

1.phagocyte binds to the antigens on pathogen (non-specific)
2.A vacuole forms around the pathogen
3. Lysosomes within a phagocyte migrate towards the phagosome/vesicle
(Fuse and release enzymes)
4. Pathogens broken down by enzymes
5. Exocytosis of debris/ absorbed by phagocyte
———————–
6. Prevents antigens of pathogen (APC) and binds to T cell
7. Produces more T cells
