Immunity Flashcards
Describe post transcriptional change of mrna in the nucleus before translation
During transcription both introns and exons are copied into mRNA called pre mRNA
Sections of dna that dont code for amino acids (introns) are removed through splicing
Exons remain and join forming mrna strand
Alternative splicing
When exons are removed during the post transcriptional changes as well as introns
Forming different mRNA strands
So more than one sequence and thus more than 1 protein can be produces from one gene
3 aids symptoms
Munor infections if mucus membranes in nose ears genitals
Recurring respiratory infections
Chronic diarrhoea/ TB
toxoplasmosis of brain- parasite infection
