Q

Would it be good to live forever? (2)

A

Evil of death deprives us of pleasure and positive experiences - if better that you are getting more pleasure than suffering good to continue living 2) but with youth which could be metaphysically possible

Q

William’s dilemma (3)

A

1) Eternal life would eventually get boring - you’d get bored of interests 2) if interests changed youd be a different person and living multiple lives - want to continue living same life so if changed immortality would have no point 3)be grateful for mortality either way

Q

Discussion to william (3)

A

1)not true would get bored of memory - short memory - forget what happened in books - so just as good reading original ones - be pointless from outside though? 2)have feeble intellect compared to archangel - does not imply life is pointless or absurd 3)bad thing to change? don’t have same character as we did when child - take into account our changing preferences we have when older - want tattoo later
