““I —— with her, you dont —- at a sleepwalker”
““I didnt argue with her, you dont yell at a sleepwalker”
In the scene when Norma is upset with Joe and proceeds to run up the stairs. How does wilder show her running up, whats the motif present and significace
In the mis-en-scene of Joe walking away, tempted to leave her house, Norma is seen through the reflection of the mirror, running up the stairs. Wilder, through a ongoing motif of mirrors, utilises the mirror shot to depict Norma running back to her isolation, back into her dimension
” So much nicer than going out shed say” “The plain fact was she afraid of the world outside”

“The muscians musn’t know”
who says this and why they said it
Max’s first concern is is not the seriousness of the issue, but the preservation of the illusion of normacy. He is truly Normas enabler of illusions.
“You—- have changed —– a bit”
“You know the pictures have changed quite a bit”
”——Norma. Youd be killing yourself to an ——”
“Wake up Norma. Youd be killing yourself to an empty house”
In that part of where everyone is stuck and then moves as she walks down, why is it so important
The visuaal effect makes it seems as if Norma is stepping onto a film set. Where the “actors” only come to life when she steps into frame. Wilder visually immerses the audience into Norma’s fantasy, making us momentarily see the world as she does—as a staged production rather than reality.is not entirely her fault—it is a product of the Hollywood machine that once worshiped her.
“Thirty million people have given her the brush, ———”
“Thirty million people have given her the brush, Isnt that enough?”
