A HYPOTHETICAL construction consists of an IF CLAUSE introduced by SE, that expresses a HYPOTHESIS or CONDITION + a MAIN CLAUSE that expresses a CONSEQUENCE or RESULT.

The SE CLAUSE may either PRECEDE or FOLLOW the consequence.
