  2. FLAPS - CRUISE
  3. AIRSPEED - 70 KIAS
  4. ENGINE GAUGES - CHECK
    Callout: “CLEAR LEFT” or “CLEAR RIGHT”

NOTE: After go around or touch and go, lean mixture for climb after safely airborne in a positive climb (safely airborne, mixture to the X)
After tower hands you off on the climb, contact departure:

Pilot-Dep: “Denver Departure, Tiger XX, (state current altitude) CLIMBING (desired altitude), (N/S/E/W) Departure, Area OR Airfield.”

CRUISE/LEVEL-OFF

  2. FLAPS - CRUISE
  3. FUEL PUMP - OFF
  4. LANDING LIGHTS - OFF
  5. ENGINE GAUGES - CHECK
  6. FUEL (GUAGE QUANTITY) - CONFIRM
    Challenge: “Fuel #/# (quantity) CONFIRM?”
    Response: “CONFIRM”
  7. MIXTURE - LEAN AS REQUIRED
    Look/listen for RPM drop, then forward 1 inch

One minute before entering your area, contact Tiger Traffic

Pilot-Tgr Trfc: “Tiger XX, entering Area #.”

  2. FL TOUCHDOWN POINT & LDG DIRECTION - IDENTIFY
  3. CLEARING TURNS -
    PERFORM
    Callout: “CLEAR LEFT” or “CLEAR RIGHT”
  4. FUEL PUMP - ON
  5. MIXTURE - FULL RICH
    *When about to leave an area use or modify SA 2+2
    Squawk ATIS/WX
    2 Checklists + 2 Radio calls
    (Cruise & Descent App + Tiger Traffic & Denver/CTAF)

    Callout: “BELOW 78 Knots” (move flaps to LDG)”
    Challenge: “Airspeed 60 Knots, flaps LDG, confirm.”
    Response: “Confirmed.”
    Callout: “CLEAR LEFT” or “CLEAR RIGHT”

Pitch Power Roll

Pilot-Twr: “Tiger XX, base, Runway #.”
Twr-Pilot: “Tiger XX, cleared option (or cleared to land), Runway #.” REPEAT

If departing towered pattern, before last touch-go, squawk 45XX, then say:
Pilot-Twr: “Tiger__, request ___ Departure after this option.”

If departing uncontrolled pattern, in final base turn say:
Pilot: “Tiger XX base runway #, Last pattern”

On upwind at 500’AGL say
Pilot: “Tiger XX Departing”

Pilot-Gnd: “Pueblo Ground, Tiger XX, (taxiway location), request taxi, Doss.”

7. SAFETY BELTS - FASTENED
8. LANDING LIGHT - ON
10. FUEL PUMP - ON
11. MIXTURE - FULL RICH

When departing your area, say on Tiger Traffic: Pilot-Tgr Trfc: “Tiger__, Area__, inbound, (Intercept Location, if departing 2/3 tier area).”
Contact Denver Approach when leaving area:
Pilot-Apr: “Denver Approach, Tiger__, Area __, 6500, Information (ATIS code)”
Apr-Pilot: “Tiger__, contact tower.” REPEAT
Pilot-Twr: “Pueblo Tower, Tiger__, (report point), Runway __, option (or full stop).”
Pilot-Twr: “Tiger__, initial, Runway__ .”
