where are the departure minimums set out?
EASA part CAT or NCO
what does the CTS ops manual require for an IFR departure?
weather at the time of take-off must not be less than the approach minima.
what is the CTS cloud and RVR minima for single pilot approaches?
200ft and 800m
what does the ops manual say about embedded CB?
aircraft are not to be operated in IMC where known or forecast embedded CB is expected to occur.
when is the da42 not to be flown in icing conditions
when there is freeing rain or freezing drizzle
when is a take off alternate required?
when it would not be possible to return to the departure airfield for performance or weather reasons
what is the alternates flight time requirement?
must be within 1 hour of single engine flight time (at cruise speed)
what is the planning minima required for take off alternates?
weather within 1 hour either side of ETA must be above the minima for the approaches concerned. if only non-precision approaches are available ceiling must be taken into account.
when is a destination alternate not required?
- flight is less than 6 hours
- if 2 runways are available at the destination and for 1 hour either side of ETA the weather is circling minima +500ft with 5km visibility
when would 2 destination alternates be required?
when weather reports at the destination are below planning minima 1 hour either side or no weather reports are available
what is the destination planning minima?
greater than the RVR/visibility specified in accordance with CAT.OP.MPA.110 for single pilot operations. Ceiling at above MDH for non-precision approaches
where can we find regulations on fuel planning?
PART CAT subpart B and OPS manual part C
what ROD should we use and at what speed?
500fpm and 150GS covers 5nm every 1000ft.
