A

Nations are real communities with characteristics. Nationalism can bind millions together and create a sense of common purpose
Marxism- see it as a false consciousness, prevents overthrow of capitalism
Functionalist - integrates everyone into a single community
Gellner - key feature of modernity. Uses education to impose a national culture making communication and economic cooperation possible.
