ICND2 Chapter 10 Flashcards
Routing Protocol Category: IGP
Interior Gateway Protocols: A routing protocol that was designed and intended for use inside a single autonomous system (AS)
Routing Protocol Category: EGP
Exterior Gateway Protocols: A routing protocol that was designed and intended for use between different autonomous systems
IP IGP Metric: RIP-1 RIP-2
Hop count; The number of routers (hops) between a router and the destination subnet.
IP IGP Metric: OSPF
Cost; The sum of all interface cost settings for all links in a route; with the cost defaulting to be based on interface bandwidth.
IP IGP Metric: EIGRP
Composite of bandwidth and delay; Calculated based on the rout’s slowest link and cumulative delay associated with each interface in the route.
