How does an ice detector work?
A
The Ice detector consists of a housing, mounting plate, wing-shaped strut, and a small probe.
. The small probe is the one that
vibrate at high frequency
. As ice buildup, the frequency of the
vibration drops - thus sending ice
caution massage to the crew
. Also during icing conditions the ice
detector is electrically deiced for 5
seconds every 60 seconds

With the windshield heat switch in a LOW position, the windshield are heated to what? And what if the switch is set to HIGH?
A
. If it is set to LOW, all 4 panels are
heated to 24°C
. If it is set to HIGH, the windshields
are heated to 41°C. While the side
windows are remain at 24°C
