What does the BAT OFF/ON switch do?
Connect the MAIN BAT DIR BUS & the APU BAT DIR BUS to the BAT BUS
What does the BAT BUS power?
The BAT BUS provides detection (Fire & Cargo smoke detection)
The Emergency BUS provides protection (puts out fire)
What are the MAIN & APU BATT rated at?
MAIN BAT:
24V DC / 17 ampere-hours
APU BAT:
24V DC / 43 ampere-hours
How are the BAT’s charged?
They have their own charger, which monitors and controls the charging rate and prevents overheating
How do you know if the BAT’s are being charged?
You will get white charger message on the DC electrical page next to the BAT’s
Where are the BAT’s located?
NAIN:
Noah’s compartment next to the TRU’s
APU:
aft equipment bay
How long can you stay only on BAT power? And why?
5 minutes, because ED1 & ED2 cooling FAN runs on AC power, without AC power you’ll overheat the screen
How long should the BAT switch be in the ON position b4 conducting a fire test?
30 seconds
