When is cowl anti ice required to be on during ground operations?
When the OAT is 10 degrees Celsius or less and you are in visible moisture of any kind, or if the OAT is 10 degrees or less and there is ground contamination of any kind
What is the source of heating for wing and cowl anti ice?
6th or 10th stage bleed air
When is cowl anti ice required to be on in flight?
TAT is 10 degrees or less Celsius in visible moisture except when SAT is less than -40 degrees Celsius or it needs to be on when ICE is announced
When is wing anti ice required to be on during ground operations?
OAT 5 degrees or less in visible moisture or if on contaminated ground. If aircraft has been anti iced then wait until just prior to takeoff to enable the wing anti ice
When is wing anti ice required to be on during flight operations?
TAT 10 degrees or less in visible moisture with airspeed less than 230 KIAS except when SAT IS less than -40 Celsius. Needs to be on if ICE is announced
What is a good ice detector test indication?
ICE caution message, the ICE switchlight illuminated, and ADS heat test ok advisory message
What is the purpose of the wing anti ice cross bleed switch
To allow bleed from one engine to anti ice the opposite wing
What occurs when windshield heat to low?
All 4 panels to 24 Celsius
What occurs when windshield heat high?
Side windows are 24 degrees and windshields are 41 degrees Celsius
