Call for the
appropriate procedure(s).
FO: I will advise ATC; verify or select 7700 on
the transponder; and accomplish the
checklist(s) silently, advising of any
omitted or pertinent items.
CA: If Emergency Descent was required,
2,000 above level off altitude, I will set
appropriate airspeed, 1,000 ft
above, I will slowly retract the Spoilers.
FO: Once leveled off, I will PA, “IN-CHARGE
FLIGHT ATTENDANT CALL (OR
REPORT TO) THE FLIGHT DECK” and
“USING OXYGEN” required
Go Around
PF: In the event of a Go-Around I will press
the TOGA button, call: “GO-AROUND, FLAP”.
PM: I will select Flap 2(4)
established in definite climb, call: “FLAP 2(4) SELECTED,
POSITIVE RATE”.
PF: I will call “GEAR UP, SET SPEED VGA”.
PM: I will select Gear UP, verify or select Speed MAN, speed to VGA.
PF: Above 400’, verify or call appropriate lateral mode, AP on.
PM: I will verify or select the appropriate lateral mode.
PF: At cleared/published missed app altitude, I will set VFE and call for Flap retraction on schedule.
PM: I will retract the Flaps on schedule.
PF: When Flaps 0, I will set speed FMS or as req’d and call “AFTER GA CHECKLIST”
PM: I will complete the After-GA Checklist
Engine fail in cruise/driftdown
PF: Thrust to MCT, AT OFF
Speed MAN, Green Dot, (IAS)
Turn if req’d
Set driftdown alt
At Green Dot, select FLC
Adjust speed to match Green Dot in
descent
PM: Verify MCT set
Obtain single engine driftdown
altitude
Advise ATC
PF: Call for the appropriate procedure(s)
PM: Accomplish the procedure(s)
Unreliable airspeed
• Disengage AP, AT
• Deselect FD, one of 3:
1) below safe altitude, pitch 12.5 degrees, Max thrust.
or
2) above safe altitude during
climb, pitch 5 degrees, Climb thrust.
or
3) at cruise, pitch 2 degrees, 80% N1.
• Call “ECL,
UNRELIABLE AIRSPEED”
>>Accomplish the checklist
Re-establish pitch and power based on unreliable airspeed tables
Stall
PF: Call “STALL”
• Disengage AP, AT
• reduce AOA
• Roll wings level
• Thrust as required
• Ensure spoilers retracted
PM: Confirm AP, AT disconnected
• Monitor / call altitude and speed trends
• Confirm spoilers retracted
>>When Out of Stall Condition<<
PM: Call “CLEAR OF WARNING”
PF: Return to desired flight path
• Call for config changes, re-engage automation
PM: Configure as requested by PF
TAWS warning
PF: Call “FIREWALL”.
• Disengage AP, AT.
• Adjust thrust to MAX
• Immediately initiate pull up, roll wings level
• Retract spoilers
• Climb: best climb angle (aft soft stop), respect stick shaker
• Maintain config ‘til ground contact not a factor
PM: Verify all actions completed, call out omissions
• Monitor vertical speed and altitude
• Call any trend toward terrain contact
>When terrain no longer factor<
PM: Call “CLEAR OF WARNING“
PF: slowly decrease pitch and accelerate.
Call for config changes and re-automate
PM: configure as requested.
Windshear
PF: TOGA
• Verify or advance Thrust Levers to MAX
• Follow FD guidance
• Ensure spoilers retracted
• Maintain config until clear of warning
• Follow escape guidance until windshear no longer indicated
below 400’, TOGA will not cancel Derate
and/or Flex (thrust HOLD until the aircraft
climbs above 400’ AGL). Manually advance to MAX .
PM: Verify max thrust is set
• Confirm spoilers retracted
• Monitor flight path, airspeed, vertical
speed, and altitude. Call out
significant variations.
>When Clear of Warning<
PM: Call “CLEAR OF WARNING”
PF: Call for config changes, re-engage automation
PM: Configure as requested by PF
TCAS RA
PF: Disengage AP, FD Off
• Promptly, smoothly fly flight
path vector into RA fly-to zone
PM: Lights ON
• FD Off
• Advise ATC “AIR CANADA ___ TCAS RA”
>Clear of Conflict<
PF: Return aircraft to previously assigned flight path. If
returning to an assigned altitude or FL, use vertical rate no greater than 500 fpm
