FOM Flashcards
Visual approach requirements
- Airport and preceding traffic in sight
- weather min 500’ above min vectoring (min 1500’), and ground vis 5 miles
- shall use and display any available navaids to intended ldg runway
- not below 1000’ until on appropriate visual app profile.
Note: Specific weather minima published on charted visuals and VGAs supersede the general rule
even if they are lower than 1500’ / 5 sm.

*Visual: lateral close to rwy CL and vertical 3 degree GP/PAPI
RNP and Cat I: within 1 dot lateral and vertical (LOC and GS for ILS)
*Cat II/III: within 1/2 dot (+/- 5 kts)
*Must be maintained to TD to make normal landing within TD zone
*minor deviations: PM shall call and repeat until corrected, or a GA
*Once corrected, call stable
Hot brake advisement
- Advise Station and Maintenance
- Confirm ground crew aware once stopped
- Do not release brakes without VERBAL confirmation chocks in.

“Flight Attendants and passengers be seated immediately with your seatbelts fastened.”
Minimum Fuel advisory
committed to land at a specific aerodrome (i.e. operating NAIFR or having dropped the alternate), the pilot calculates any change to existing clearance to that aerodrome may result in landing with less than Reserve fuel
1000’ arrival gate parameters?
Should be fully configured for landing, with landing check complete
If minor deviations, PM shall call conditions(s) and repeat until corrected
PCI required when? (4)
*Lower limit of HOTDR-METAR
*HOTDR or eHOT directs
*Contamination expected
*Crew or pax concerns
Fuel Emergency
under existing or expected conditions the flight will land with less than Reserve Fuel
Take off alternate when?
Weather less than the Standard Take-off Minima of RVR 2600 or 1/2 statute, or below landing minima that would enable an immediate return
In USA, Cat I ILS are not authorized using __________ below _____ SM. _______ values must be used.
