- Most prominently differences in the procession of the Spirit (filioque added to the Nicene Creed), and leavened or unleavened eucharist when pope Leo 9th and Cerulariss mutually excommunicated the other.

- Ordered back to Wittenberg with plan to kidnap and arrest him, but Fredrick took him to Wartburg Castle as the reformation spread.
- Faith alone, sola scriptura, sacraments are not the means of grace for the individual but the aaction belongs to God.

“Charismatic” Renewal
A
- A three part “renewal” that stressed the continued practice of the charismatic gifts including prophecy, apostleship, healing and speaking in tongues.
- Developed in 3 waves.
- First in 1901 with Pentecostalism,
- then Charismatics in mainline denominations in the 60s,
- followed by the Neo-Charismatic non denominational post 1985

- dispute between Zwingli and Luther at Marburg Castle
- most importantly concerning the real presence of Christ in the Lord’s Supper.
- Luther: by sacramental union the elements were united with Jesus’ body and blood,
- while Zwingli saw them as symbols (Bc Christ only bodily present at right hand of God the Father)
