Q

What are the diagnostic criteria for SIADH?

A

Clinical euvolemia (to exclude vomiting/diarrhea, heart failure, cirrhosis which induced the release of ADH)

Decreased serum osmolality

Increased urine osmolality

Normal a.m. cortisol (to exclude adrenal insufficiency. Cortisol inhibits the release of ADH therefore cortisol deficiency indirectly increases ADH release)
