Acute coronary syndrome Flashcards
What are the EKG criteria for STEMI?
ST-segment elevations ≥1 mm (0.1 mV) in 2 anatomically contiguous leads or ≥2 mm (0.2 mV) in leads V2 and V3 or new left bundle branch block and presentation consistent with ACS.
What are the EKG criteria for NSTEMI?
ST-segment depressions or deep T-wave inversions without Q waves or possibly no ECG changes.
Relative contraindications for nitroglycerin?
Nitrates must be used with caution or avoided in settings in which hypotension is likely or could result in serious hemodynamic decompensation, such as right ventricular infarction or severe aortic stenosis. In addition, nitrates are contraindicated in patients who have taken a phosphodiesterase inhibitor for erectile dysfunction within the previous 24 hours.
