What is it defined as?
Which babies should be given proper medical attention in regards to this?
How does it present?
A
➊ Glucose < 2.5mmol/L
➋ • Risk factors for hypoglycaemia
• S+S of hypoglycaemia
• Persistent or refractory hypoglycaemia
➌ Hypotonia, Lethargy, Poor feeding, Hypothermia, Apnoea, Pallor

Q
How is it managed?
A
• Encourage effective feeding
• Buccal 40% glucose gel 200mg/kg if 1-1.9 mmol/L
• Bolus IV 10% glucose 2.5ml/kg if < 1mmol/L, then start infusion at 90ml/kg/day
