nutritional therapy treatment
emphasize: fruits, veggies, and whole grains, fish, legumes, and nuts
limit: saturated fat, sweets, and red meat
medication therapy
statins (lovastatin, simvastatin, & pitavastatin)
inhibit synthesis of cholesterol in the liver which also ends up allowing more LDL to be removed from the blood
statin drugs
