depresses ribs during expiration stabilizes thoracic wall
Transversus thoracis: origin
body and xiphoid process of sternum
Transversus thoracis: insertion
costal cartilages 2-6 (inner surface)
Transversus throacis: action
depresses ribs during expiration
innervation of all hypaxial muscles of the thoracic body wall
Intercostal nn. (thoracic ventral rami)
