Highly soluble, produces a strongly acidic solution.

Add Conc. sulfuric acid to sodium chloride
How are Hydrogen bromide and iodide made
Add conc. Phosphoric acid to sodium bromide and iodide.
What would be observed when a halide salt is reacted with an acid
Steamy fumes would be produced as the hydrogen halides would dissolve readily in water in the air, producing droplets of HCl or HBr or HI (aq)
What would be observed when a hydrogen halide gas reacts with ammonia gas
A white smoke is produced
What is the pattern of thermal stability in Hydrogen halides
as you go down the periodic table, the thermal stability decreases.
