can you give some context about the poet and poem?
the poem is in reference of a true story. and that the places where we come from will always be with us throughout or lives. Nichols was born in Guyana, in 1950 but moved to England in 1977. she married a poet called John Agard. is she grew up in her native country she would of been used to hurricanes. in 1987 a weather man, Michael Fish, said there would be no hurricane but turned out to be wrong.
