can you give some context about the poet and poem?

A

the poem evokes a sentimental longing for the past, typically for a place with happy associations. home is a sentimental place which is linked to fond memories. He longs to be in England. Browning was a Victorian poet and playwright who was happily married for 15 years, however his wife fell ill and they moved to Italy longing for an improvement in her health she died in 1861 leaving Browning to bring up their 12 year old son.
