Humidity Flashcards
The atmosphere is capable of holding moisture in the form of an invisible gas. This gas is called -
The atmosphere can hold more of this gas when it is -
And less if it is -
Water vapour
warm(the density decreases)
Cold(density increases)
Explain the difference between absolute humidity and relative humidity:
Absolute humidity is the mass of water vapour per volume of air expressed in grams per cubic metre.
Relative humidity is the amount of water vapour present divided by the amount of water vapour it can hold expressed as a percentage.
At 100% the air will become saturated, I.E it cannot hold any more water vapour.
Dew point is important in anticipating fog, but has little bearing on -
