the Domesday book was a book that William the conqueror kept. it is an eleventh-century public record of who owned what and how much they had.
bayeux tapestry
the Bayeux Tapestry is an embroidered cloth that depicts the battle of Hastings in 1066 and the events leading up to it.
primary source
a primary source is an artifact, document, diary, manuscript, autobiography, recording, or any other source of information that was created at the time under study. It serves as an original source of information about the topic.
secondary source
a secondary source of information is one that was created later by someone who did not experience first-hand or participate in the events or conditions you’re researching.
tithe barn
tithe barn a barn where peasants’ produce is stored as a form of taxation and one of the buildings that have survived the middle ages.
