define congruence

A

rogers argued that personal growth to be achieved congruence must be achieved

  • Congruence = must be achieved where an individuals concept of self must be broadly equivalent to their ideal self
  • the closer (ideal self, self-image and true self) are the greater the congruence and the higher the level of self-worth
