A
receptors generate nerve impulses that are transmitted via the the central nervous system, which will integrate the sensory information from the receptors and initiate a response. a nerve impulse will then be transmitted to the muscle of gland via the peripheral nerves along the motor neurone. the muscle/gland which will bring about this response is an effector
