slow and steady growth. Accomplishes new social skills such as making friends, toilet trained and eating with adults
Late childhood
Slow and steady growth. Several social, emotional and intellectual changes influenced by primary schooling. Includes refining reading, and writing skills, developing long-term memory, understanding gender stereotypes and refining motor skills.
Youth
Rapid growth. Increased independence and sexual maturity and therefore the ability to reproduce. Undergo significant social, emotional and intellectual changes as they become accustomed to greater independence, more complex relationships and the development of life goals.
Early adulthood
Body reaches its peak physically around 25-30 followed by a steady decline in body system thereafter. Often become focused on building a career, choose a life partner and have children. These events lead to emotional, social, physical and intellectual changes.
Late adulthood
Changes in life style - retirement and financial security. Participants in voluntary work and leisure activities. Some endure grief and loss - death of friends and partners. Living arangements may change.
