Vision Statement
Short statement listing what leadership foresees in the long-term future of the company.
Mission Statement
Org’s purpose and actions it will take to achieve it’s vision.
Vision v. Mission
Vision: future-oriented & unclear direction.
Mission: highlights present & crystal clear in goals/objectives.
Goals
The general direction the organization wants to go.
Objectives
The specific goals/activities done to complete the goal.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Improving social and environmental impact on the community at large.
Organizational Culture
The “force” behind the org’s mission and success.
How Culture Impacts an Org.
Culture -> Enhanced Collaboration -> Increased Competitive Advantage = Org. Success.
Having a shared culture + impacts all aspects of work.
HR & Org. Culture
HR is the “caretaker” of org. culture and doing so maintains org’s competitive advantage which can drive achievements for the org.
Unwritten Org Culture
Culture is felt, observed, and shown.
These unwritten rules are just the way the org. operates based off of deep-rooted past.
Tradition
Sprouts from factors that contributed to the company’s success in the past.
Communication Strategies & Employee Involvement
Strats that include both allow employees to be more involved in decision-making, therefore allowing them to be more involved in the company.
Employment Involvement Strat:
Delegating Authority
Organization gives employee power to decision-make relating to their position duties w/o needing authoritative permission.
Employment Involvement Strat:
Employee/Climate Survey
Org. gets info. on employee feedback (concerns/priorities) via. forms filled out and submitted.
