What is a ringmain?
A ring of Pipework running around 2 deck that can be subdivided by the use of isolation valves

What do the other pumps do while one pump is supplying the ship?
They are maintained in a stand by state
What operation requires more pumps to be running?
Flight Deck Operations
What are the two positions Pumps can be operated from?
Local, and Remote
Where is Local pump operations used?
Close to the pump, so that anyone in the vicinity has control over the pump
Where is remote operations used?
Allows pump to be controlled from a remote position from the pump (System Control Centre)
What is a fixed spray system?
An automatic, or manually operated firefighting system
What are the four fixed spray operations?
Magazines, Paint Lockers, Inflam Stores, Funnel
What is Pre Wet?
It washed upper decks to clear them of NBC contaminants
