What did the President do?
Elected every 7 years, Had the power to dissolve the parliament and work alone through Article 48 but were not expected to use this power. They were also responsible for appointing the chancellor.
Who was the Chancellor?
Appointed by the President but needed the support of the Reichstag.
What was the Reichstag?
The German parliament made up of ‘deputies’ who were elected by the German people every 4 years.
What was the Lander?
Regional state government which divided Germany into 17 states.
What was the Supreme Court?
Had the final say in arguments over the new constitution of Germany
