How to write Questionnaires Flashcards
Clarity
the reader understands what is being asked - there should be no ambiguity.
Bias
any bias in a question might lead the respondent to be more likely to give a particular answer
Social Desirability bias
this is the greatest problem with questions
Emotive questions should be avoided because they
make people defensive and result in answers that aren’t true
Filler Questions
some irrelevant questions are included to mislead the respondent from the main purpose of the survey.
Sequence for the Questions
it is best to start with easy questions and save the difficult questions that might make someone feel anxious
Pilot study
the questions can be tested on a small group of people meaning you can change the question in response to difficulties
