- 1st sentence: identify the context of the source - the event being depicted or described
- 1-2 sentences on causes to the context
- 2-3 sentences on events/detail of the context
- 1-2 sentences on consequences/significance of context

Author’s Perspective (6 marks)
A
- 1st sentence: identify the perspective of the author of Source 3A - Do they convey a positive/negative/celebratory/critical perspective on the issue?
- 1 - 2 sentences in which you outline the evidence that ‘proves’ that is the perspective of the author
- 1 - 2 sentences in which you outline ‘why’ the author has that perspective
- Repeat this process for Source 3B

Usefulness (6 marks)
A
- 1 Sentences - Thesis on usefulness: Signpost your overall statement on the usefulness of the source by noting whether it is limited or moderately useful or extremely useful.
- 1-2 Sentences - Strengths: Assess the strengths of the source in terms of its usefulness.
□ Is it a primary or secondary source?
□ Does it seem to have a clear bias?
□ Is it too focused on one narrow issue? - 1-2 Sentences - Weaknesses: Assess the weaknesses of the source in terms of its usefulness.
