Q

If we had a scale of:

nm -> um -> mm -> m -> km

How would we convert to each unit as we move up the scale?

A

Divide by 1000

For example, 6mm = 0.006m or 6 x 10^-3 m

Then 0.006m = 0.000006km or 6 x 10^-6 km

Q

If we had a scale of:

nm -> um -> mm -> m -> km

How would we convert to each unit as we move down the scale?

A

Multiply by 1000

For example, 6mm = 6,000um or 6 x 10^3 um
Then 6,000um = 6,000,000nm or 6 x 10^6 nm
