it did not change a lot in methods - mostly observational. but research did get more ethical

cognitive psychology got more complex over time, such as adding extra stores to memory models

it became a lot more scientific, using methods such as genetic testing and brain scans

not much change as theory was well established and accepted from the beginning, application becomes different (phobias)
