Education enable people to gain useful knowledge and skills and people can apply what they have learnt to gain employment where they engage in paid work. People receives wages from their work and thus can purchase food and other necessities to improve their well being. Cities are home to a variety of educational institutions, including vocational schools and universities that cater to different interests. Businesses thrive in cities because of the developed infrastructure, availability of services and opportunities such as education. Businesses benefit from the concentration of educational institutions in cities and can hire directly from a large pool of skilled employees.
