Q

How did land plants adapt to breath?

A

Developed a stomata (small opening) that would open and close to take in O2 and release CO2. Could close to keep water from leaking

Q

How did land plants avoid needing support from water?

A

2 methods
1- Xylem vessels provide rigidity. Vessel takes water from roots, phoem takes takes sugar from top of plant to distribute it
2- Contractile vacuoles store water to help plant cells fill/hold their shape
