A

Credible figurehead: lambert simnel to pretend to be the earl of Warwick.
Henry was able to produce the real earl of Warwick and parade him to prove simnel was a pretender.
John de la pole supported simnel and he fled to burgundy where the Duchess of Burgundy [the sis of Richard iii] used her international influence to support them with troops [2000 mercenaries].
Set sail to Ireland where the earl of Kildare crowned simnel as king before they began launching an invasion in England.

A

Late 1491: earl of Kildare was hesitant to support him. Irish backings did not materialise
1492:Charles viii invited him to France , treated like a prince+ went to burgundy where Margaret embraced him as if he were her actual nephew. She was determined to remove Henry vii n restore Yorkist line.
1495: sir William Stanley was implicated in plotting with warbeck against Henry and was executed = very worrying bc he had close access to Henry himself.
Attempted to invade England 3 times:
Kent- small force of 300 soldiers, fail
Scotland- warbeck was married to James ivs cousin - tried to invade with 1400 soldiers, fail n retreated
1497 Cornwall rebellion bc they were angry that they were made to pay tax to fund the war against Scotland =unsuccessful when he was captured.
Warbeck and the earl of Warwick 1499 were convicted of treason and executed.
