  • Wrap body in plastic sheet and place in body bag

  • Obtain approval OC investigation to remove body
  • Arrange for undertaker to remove body to mortuary.

A

  • use of specialist kits during examination (MEK, tox kit, firearms residue etc)

When will the OC body record the cause of death or pathologist findings?

A

During the debrief with OC investigation, but only at the direction of OC investigation or Pathologist.

When might a second PM be ordered?

A
  • The pathologist is unable to establish a cause of death
  • suspects lawyer seeks approval from coroner to conduct independent PM.
  • Solicitor General orders second PM after application made to High Court.
