Steps for stripping the body (12)
- Only in the PRESENCE of a pathologist.
- Remove body from secure FRIDGE. Assist staff to take body to exam room.
- Remove from BODY BAG.
- Take POSSESSION of body bag, sheets, wrappings as exhibits.
- Additional PHOTOS.
- Remove CLOTHING. Avoid cutting clothing. Search pockets.
- INVENTORY of clothes and possessions.
- LABEL each item.
- SEAL each item in a separate bag.
- Avoid CROSS-CONTAMINATION of exhibits.
- Maintain SECURITY and CONTINUITY of body and exhibits until PM.
- SIEVE in the drain hole.
