Every major character can be seen to engage in some kind of disobedience, Moira does this most boldly

what is the significance of the role of religion in the handmaid’s tale?
it is Christian extremists who overthrow the government, yet christian values such as charity and forgiveness are distorted, these are used as a way to promote the oppression of women. Atwood also uses imagery/motifs to criticise religion.
what is the significance of the book of job?
this is a story in the bible which covers a series of catastrophes which is covered by survivors, job is referred to as being blameless, yet Satan states that Job is only good because God has blessed him- the book of job is referenced in both F451 and HMT.
what is the literary connection of “context is all”?
this links to a quote from King Lear which states that “ripeness is all”- the play is about getting ready for inevitable death but also making the most of your life.
