This was written by Blake who was a Romantique Poet, and himself challenged conformity, in this poem he explores the development as humanity.
what is the significance of Icarus/Prometheus?
Icarus- he ignored his fathers instructions to not fly too close to the sun
Prometheus- he is credited with the creation of man from clay, he stole fire and gave it to humanity. he was sentenced by Zeus for his transgression, due to the theft- He was later freed by Hercules.
what is the significance of Montag’s book?
Ecclesiastes- the book reflects the ideas of one who questioned the doctrine of retributive justice associated with wisdom theology.
The Book of Revelation- this is the last book in the bible, this has vivid imagery of disaster and suffering.
