HMIS Monitoring and Evaluation Flashcards
It is the systematic collection, analysis and use of information gathered from programs for three basic services (what are they)
Monitoring
1. Learning from acquired experiences (learning function)
2. Accounting internally and externally for the resources used
3. The result obtained (monitoring function) and taking decisions (steering function)
It is assessing an ongoing or completed program or policy as systematically and as objectively as possible.
Evaluation
What is the objective of evaluation

What type of function does evaluation have
Learning function -the lesson learned need to be incorporated into future proposal or policy
Monitoring function - parteners and members review the implementation of policy based on objectives and resources mobilized
what is the purpose of M&E
assess the effectiveness of an integrated service delivery
appropriate indicators:
data collection system and data analysis - to support decision making to help guide the successful implementation of integrated services and measure the effect on both service delivery and use of service
briefly explain the monitoring and evaluation framework
indicator domains
data collection
analysis and synthesis
communication use
these establishes the reviews DURING the implementation of the plan for the national level
it address the components of the framework and establishes the foundation for regular reviews during the implementation of the plan for the national level
M&E plan
M&E framework should be
- localized
- address the needs for the multiple users and purposes
- facilitate the identification of indicators and data sources
- able to use the M&E in disease specific programs
what are the M&E and HMIS key performance area
RRIDD (refer to textbook to see the key indicator) - according to USA these are the 5 key performance area
reproductive health
resources utilization
immunization
disease prevention and control
data quality
briefly explain the maternal survival interventions
pregnancy care interventions:
- regular check ups, nutrition advice
-antenatal care, according to WHO, there shld be at least 4 visit
- abnormal pregnancies
- cases of abortion
intrapartum care:
- care during labor and delivery (monitor the progress)
- manage the pain
- conceive to labor
- institution of mortality and morbidity due to obstructive labour
post-partum care:
- care to mums after childbirth
- monitor recovery, provide support for breastfeeding
- physical and emotional needs of the new mother
- institution of mortality and morbidity due to postpartum hemorrhage
interpartum care:
- family planning services
- health edu
- prepare for future pregnancies
how much does the fifth millennium development goal targets want to reduce its maternal mortality ratio
by 75%
to achieve universal access to reproductive health
in the child mortality and child survival interventions, which disease is high and low in mortality
in the Philippines 2013,
high - pneumonia
low - congenital pneumonia
what are the various strategies that help ensure good health of Filipino by 2025
who launched it
launched by the ph govt through DOH
1. Child 21 (Ph National Strategic Framework for Plan Development for Children 2000 to 2025)
- policy making and program planning
- roadmap for interventions aimed to safeguarding the welfare of filipino children
- Children’s Health 2025
- subdocument of child 21
- development of filipino children
- protection of their rights - Integrated Management of Childhood illness (IMCI)
- lower child mortality caused by common illness - Enhanced Child Growth
- improve health and nutrition of filipino children
- operate community-based health and nutrition posts all throughout the country
what is the goal of the stop TB program
dramatically reduce the global burden of TB by 2015
what are the HMIS indicators to monitor stop TB program
TB patients on DOTS
TB case detection
HIV-TB co-infection
HIV + new TB patients enrolled in DOTS
TB treatment outcome
