Causes of HIV/AIDS
A
- Sharing dirty needles can spread the disease.
- Drinking infected breast milk can give the baby HIV.
- Unprotected sex with an infected person will increase the risk of HIV spreading.
- Infected blood transfusions can pass on the disease.
- Exposure to infected body fluids or tissues can spread HIV.
- during childbirth the baby is exposed to blood and other fluids, putting it at risk of HIV.

Effects of HIV/AIDS.
A
- Lack of school staff means children cannot be educated, therefore the children cannot go on to get good jobs and will find it difficult to support their families.
- The life expectancy of countries like Botswana is lower due to HIV/AIDS.
- The relatives of people suffering from HIV/AIDS, may not be accepted by the community and may lose their jobs and struggle to survive.
- If farmers are ill they will be too weak to work meaning there might be food shortages and people will not have enough food to survive.

Management of HIV/AIDS
A
- Wearing condoms during Sex is an effective way to prevent HIV/AIDS.
- Using a clean needle or not sharing needles at all stops spreading the disease.
- Always test blood before giving a blood transfusion.
- Test for HIV if you think you are at risk.
-Take PrEP if you think you have been exposed to HIV. - Screening for HIV during pregnancy to check for the disease.
- Use formula milk for the baby to prevent the baby getting HIV.
