-After Burr (claimed to not shoot at him- Vice President) left being vice-president a few months later, he was arrested but found not guilty. The incident ended his political career.

The first appearance of the rivalry between Burr and Hamilton was when Hamilton convinced a congressman to not vote Burr into office when running for President against Jefferson. After that Burr blamed Hamilton for demolishing his reputation and challenged Hamilton to a duel. Hamilton stated he was opposed to a duel and he may have chosen not to shoot at his opponent or it may have been a mistake, but Burr shot Hamilton. Hamilton then died 30 hours later from the wounds that he got in the duel versus Burr.
